Jill Mumford has worked as an artist, an art director for a record company, a graphic designer, a scenic painter for films and television and as a mural painter. She managed a band and co-directed and co-produced several promotional music videos. She currently works part time in publishing as a freelance designer and art editor.

She has a family tradition of painting that goes back two generations. Her grandfather, Robert Thomas Mumford, exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy of Arts, and her father, Geoffrey Robert Mumford, exhibited at the National portrait Gallery.

Jill likes to paint both in oils and watercolours, has had several one-woman-shows in London and exhibits regularly in Hertfordshire.

She welcomes commissions for portraits, or any other subject.
